Temple Men’s Golf Prepares for Princeton

With the season almost at an end, and the conference championships on the horizon, the Temple Men’s Golf team is ramping up preparation as they head into the Princeton Invitational this weekend.

The Owls have been spending some extra time at their practice facility, working on every detail of their game, from short game to long game. Head Coach Brian Quinn emphasizes the importance of each tournament leading up to conference play.

“I tell my kids all the time, everything’s a practice round for conference championship,” said Quinn. “We’re just trying to get ready and get our top four guys playing really well all at the same time. We haven’t had that yet.”

After finishing seventh in their most recent tournament, the team is looking to put together a more complete performance.

Veteran leadership has been important this season for the Owls, with senior Jake Naese, junior Aidan Emmerich, and senior Ethan Whitney stepping up.

“We’ve had some good finishes this spring,” said Emmerich. “We’re definitely moving in the right direction.”

Whitney added: “We’ve got a good chance and a good opportunity to compete at Conference.”

A strong showing this weekend could give the Owls the momentum they need as they make their way through the final stretch of the season.
