Temple Tops Tulsa 3-1

The Temple Owls came out on top in an important conference matchup against Tulsa. The Owls beat Tulsa by a score of 3-1. This win brings Temple to 8-6-1 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. Tulsa sits at 4-7-1 on the season and 1-4 in conference play.

Tulsa came out strong in the first minutes of the game and scored in the 2nd minute to give them an early lead. But the Owls came back in the 11th minute and answered when Junior Hermann Doerner scored the Owls first

goal of the game to make the score 1-1 and tie up the game. Freshman Alan Camacho Soto scored the second goal of the game off an assist from Mark Grasela to give the Owls the 2-1 lead. Temple continued to keep the lead in the second half, and with five minutes left in the game, Sophomore Thibault Candia secured the victory scoring the final goal for the Owls.

Tulsa outshot Temple 19-8, and Tulsa had 8 shots on goal whereas Temple only had 6. Temple only had 3 corners, and Tulsa had 6. The Owls goalie, Michael Samnik had 7 saves in goal, and Tulsa only had 3.

The Temple Owls will face UCF on Saturday October, 28th at 7PM.
