New buildings are popping up outside of Temple’s campus. One of the new buildings, though decorated in Temple’s cherry and white, isn’t part of campus.
Located on 12th and Montgomery Street, The View at Montgomery is a new apartment building opening early August 2014. The 11,000 square foot building will offer over 25 different floor plans styles and provide over 800 beds for off-campus residents.
“It has a great proximity to the main academic buildings, while maintaining the freedom of choice to be an off-campus housing options” said General Manger of The View, Mark Catliano.
Pricing varies based on the room style a resident selects. Single studio rooms are priced at 1400 dollars a month, while four bedroom two bath shared apartments cost around 800 dollars a month per person. The apartments come furnished and include various amenities to attract students to a more modern decor than dorm life.
“We wanted something fresh…and fit in with the surrounding neighbors that really had some vibracy” said one of the designers of the new complex.
The building is selling quickly, it is not full and several floors plans are still available. Many students are expected to lease in the property before the start of next semester. However, it is not exclusive to students and will be available to the public as well.
