Weapon Recovered Outside J&H; Non-Temple Related

A gun that was discarded in the grass in front of Johnson & Hardwick dormitory hall was involved in a non-Temple related shooting, but still left some residents nervous. The incident occurred during a highly-sensitive week after the online threat from 4chan and the CCP incident. Below is a tweet posted by Jane Stewart, a Temple student living in the J&H dorm.

A shooting occurred on the 700 block of Diamond Street and the suspect ran west down Diamond. An Allied Barton officer saw the man and radioed Temple Police. A TUPD officer stopped the man near Broad Street.

The suspect in the shooting had discarded his gun in the grass near J&H previously. Police recovered the weapon outside of J&H and sectioned off the area around 9pm Wednesday.
