Women’s Soccer Continues to Slide, Lose to Binghamton

Temple’s Womens’ Soccer lost their third straight game to the Binghamton Bearcats, falling 3-1. Both teams played hard in the heat, but Temple now falls to 2-5, while Binghamton moves out of the day with a 4-2-2. 

Binghamton’s Leighann Bennett kicked off the scoring with a goal in the 18th minute taking the 1-0 lead. Owl’s forward Kayla Cunningham scored her first goal of the season tying up the game in the 36th minute.  

The Bearcats took the lead in the 54th minute with help from Jocelyn Acor raising the score 2-1. Then in the 82th minute Michele Galvin and Foward Allison Mack connected on a corner kick header to push the Bearcat lead to 3-1.

Freshman goalie Cassy Skelton recorded her first start as an Owl, finishing the day with 2 saves. 

Temple’s bench kept busy with seven substitutions forcing Binghamton to do the same. The Owls were out shot 15-6. 

Templewill find themselves traveling to Emmitsburg, M.D. Friday, September 16th to go against the Mountaineers of Mount St. Mary’s University.
