Students survey the damage after an incident on Norris Street Wednesday night left six cars damaged.

A multi-car collision occurred on Wednesday just off of Temple University’s main campus on Norris Street.

A driver hit six parked cars along the 1400 block of Norris Street on Wednesday afternoon and then continued to drive down the opposite direction of the one-way street until the intersection of Broad and Norris Streets where the car was stopped by oncoming traffic. The driver was then apprehended by police.

Brandon Lausch, Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications for Temple University, said the driver of the car was a female who appeared as if she was experiencing a medical emergency. Mr. Lausch also said that a non-Temple related male was struck by the car and he was experiencing leg pain.

“She turned into this building over here and then just started spiraling out of control all over the road like over a ping pong ball into all of these cars,” said Sarah Leonard, a senior at Temple who witnessed the incident.

This is a developing story; please check back for details as they are made available.
