Philadelphia Hosts Veterans Parade and Festival

The 5th Annual Philadelphia Veterans Parade and Festival took place this past weekend. The event kicked off at noon with a group of paratroopers descending from the sky displaying the American flag and landing in the middle of Independence Mall.

The parade included over 7,000 participants from more than 150 organizations. 21 veteran service organizations were also in attendance. The Philadelphia Veterans Parade is the non-profit who hosted this event to honor the sacrifices of our veterans.

The parade concluded at 5th and Market where the Veterans Festival took place. Vet Fest was a family friendly atmosphere where parade-goers could come and enjoy food, music, and a chance to meet and speak with some of the vets.

Vet Fest also had various vendors available for veterans to gain access to healthcare, employment opportunities, housing, and financial assistance. UESF was just one of the organizations there eager to help and assist veterans. One of UESF main goals is home security for the Vets, meaning helping them with their finances in order to keep their home.
