President Richard Englert sat down with Temple Update reporter Dan Ray in an exclusive interview discussing the the university’s progress for an on-campus football stadium.
Temple just submitted designs and plans to the Philadelphia Planning Commission for review, and should get an evaluation from the city in four to five months. Concerns over the project dwarfing the North Philadelphia neighborhood continue to mount. Despite the university’s promises, residents and students are still concerned the stadium would force long-time residents out of their homes, and disrupt the surrounding community.
President Englert addresses these concerns in this exclusive interview with Temple Update, as he details the university’s progress over the last two years, the similarities with the Liacouras Center construction in 1997, and their efforts to make the stadium work for the surrounding community.
