Temple Owls head basketball coach Fran Dunphy was named the 2015 AAC Coach of the Year Thursday.
Dunphy transformed a 9-22 Owls team in 2013-2014 to a defensive force accumulating a 22-9 record this season.
“While this may read Coach of the Year, it is truly a team award. I would like to recognize our staff for all the hard work throughout the season, and our players for their hard work this season,” said coach Dunphy.
Temple faces the No. 5 seed Memphis Tigers in the AAC Tournament today as the No. 4 seed. If the Owls pull of a couple wins in the tournament, their status for the Big Dance should be as locks.
