A celebration of the Lunar New Year came to The Rail Park this past Saturday.
Hosted in collaboration with the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation, Friends of the Rail Park welcomed dozens of Philly resident to the recently completed green space.
Hosted in the park’s beer garden, the celebration of the surrounding community gave Philadelphians the chance to enjoy food trucks, Vietnamese coffee, and traditional Chinese calligraphy.
The day culminated in the dragon dance parade which circled the Rail Park and the surrounding neighborhood.
Kevin Dow, executive director for the nonprofit Friends of the Rail Park, hopes both the event and the park will serve as a way of connecting the culture of Chinatown with the rest of Philadelphia.
