Philly Phans Mourn Music Icon, Prince

Prince died in his Minnesota home on April 21, 2016.

The Purple Rain singer has been the center of several tributes from the Empire State Building being lit purple, the Prince St. station on the MTA Subway became an impromptu tribute to the famed singer, and back in the city of Brotherly Love, the Benjamin Franklin Bridge was lit purple to commemorate the singer who was as unique as his name.

Adjunct Professor Paul Gold had the chance to work with Prince on his “Kiss” music video. He spoke to Update Reporter Tennyson Coleman about his experience with the singer.

“I was amazed how professional he was, he did his homework, let’s put it that way,” said Gold.
