Students Look Forward to Results of Election 2020

“I’m ready for it to be over, but I’m not necessarily looking forward to it. But I’m not not looking forward to it,” said Temple Senior Connor Schiefer.

Election Day 2020 will be unlike any other in the past. Rather than knowing the results on election night, the United States as a nation will have to wait days or even weeks. This is causing a lot of anxiety among Temple voters.

“It might even get worse if Trump wins again. He might even be impeached again. He might be the first president ever to be impeached twice and be acquitted both times. We’ll have to see,” Temple Alumni John Gidley said.

On the day before Election Day, the votes have already topped over 100 million. Even with record voter turnout so far, there are still some people who are choosing not to vote.

“There’s things on both sides that I don’t like, so whoever wins I think is a loss in my book,” said senior Billy Cobb

Some states won’t have election results until weeks later, while others may have them the night of November 3rd. Unfortunately, all we have is a rough estimate of how long it can take, so we as a nation will have to be patient.
