SELF-CARE FAIR

Temple’s Wellness Resource Center hosted its annual ‘Self-Care Fair’ this week hoping to give students a chance to unwind and relax. Senior Nicole Teague, whose Tuttleman Counseling Services booth could be found at the fair, says the event is “a great way to learn about the services and resources that Temple offers”.

In an effort to help students divert their attention from any stress they may have encountered this school year, this event included mindful activities like coloring, making lip balm and soap, and an opportunity to connect with other wellness organizations on Temple’s campus. Active Minds club member Alyssa Covalchick says “Our club specifically focuses on the statistics, as well as the impact it has on students”.

Students themselves have expressed that they believe the Wellness Resource Center’s fairs are effective in helping them decompress.

“I feel like Temple does tag on a lot about mental health. Um- I like that there’s a lot of activities and they do a lot of events regarding my mental health or my anxiety and depression,” Temple Junior Yahnijah Reynolds said.

The Wellness Resource Center hosts a Self-Care Fair every September and March.
