Washington and much of the United States are waiting to find out what will be on the agenda for Tuesday’s State of the Union address.
The Trump White House has remained characteristically tight-lipped on what the president plans to address during his speech to Congress and the nation.
Though the president has not spoken specifically on the agenda of his address, recent twitter activity from the oval office has indicated that immigration will be a hot-button issue for Trump.
Tweeting to the public yesterday, Trump stated that, “With Caravans marching through Mexico and toward our Country, Republicans must be prepared to do whatever is necessary for STRONG Border Security. Dems do nothing. If there is no Wall, there is no Security. Human Trafficking, Drugs and Criminals of all dimensions – KEEP OUT!”
The White House has also announced the addresses’ guests for the evening, including police veterans and a survivor of the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting.
Democrats have also announced guests.Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez announced on Instagram that she will be joined by her constituent Ana María Archila, a political activist who recently confronted former senator Jeff Flake over assault accusations made against him.
Senior Senator Bernie Sanders has also announced that he will hold a separate State of the Union address for his supporters in opposition to Trump.
