Women’s Basketball Falls to USF Bulls

Women’s basketball took on American Athletic Conference match-up University of South Florida, Saturday February 22nd. The lady Owls lost in the last seconds of the game 72-69.

In the first half, the Owls took the initial lead off, but then the Bulls came back to tie the game at 8. From there USF took a small lead, but that didn’t last long as the Owls came back to tie the game at 28. Heading in the locker room at halftime the Temple only lead by a single point, 41-40.

Coming out into the second half, the Owls continued their lead. With a technical foul called on USF, Tyonna Williams made both points at the line for Temple to take a seven-point lead. With 10 minutes left, USF took their first lead of the second half. USF continued to lead by three with 2:28 minutes left to play. Brown hit a crucial three-point basket, to close the gap and tie the game with 45 seconds left. Unfortunately, a foul was called on Williams, which sent USF to the line. The free throws lead USF to come out on top, 72-69.

Temple will take on Rutgers on Wednesday, February 26th at 7:30. The game will be broadcasted online on the American Digital Network.
