Homecoming Week Continues Without Owlchella

One of the most anticipated events of the year has been cancelled until further notice. The campus-wide email had some students disappointed, and others understanding.

“I’m like, ‘What are we going to do for the week?’ Like, that’s the big part of the week so I was kind of disappointed. I don’t know! What’re we going to do?” exclaimed global studies major Nije Childs.

While Childs was shocked the concert was canceled, business major Nicola Scattolon understood it was out of their hands.

“They will postpone it, maybe try and get French Montana back hopefully. So if they get the lineup back I mean, definitely, I would definitely buy more tickets,” Scattolon said.

The Main Campus Program Board says the concert will still be great, just at a later date.

Bryan Newman is the advisor of the MCPB. He says they “are looking to retain the entire lineup of the original lineup that was released for Owlchella with Fetty [Wap], Logic, Jhene [Aiko] and French Montana. MCPB says they will let everyone know via social media and their website when the new Owlchella date will be released. Homecoming week still has other events in store before the big game on Saturday.

“The football team has red hot momentum and I’m really, really excited to bring Tulane in, to beat them, so we can move on to the next opponent,” said Student-Body President, Ryan Rinaldi.

The homecoming court will show off their talents during the homecoming pageant until the king and queen are crowned.

The first-ever homecoming parade will be held Friday at the Bell Tower showcasing different temple organizations with music, giveaways, and performances.
